That’s because they are not flat, and will scratch precision surfaces. Use PFG Stones with a few pounds of pressure, and don’t worry, they will not remove material from a flat surface - only deburr. Includes two PFG Stones, silicon carbide, each ground on two faces. Storage tray included. The Model PFGS-4RC nominal dimensions are 1.5" thick x 4 inch diameter. The edges are not ground flat. The Coarse side of the stone is rated at 120 grit, the Fine side is 280 grit. Of course, the grit means less once the stones are given the PFG treatment.
